Features/People at work

For this assignment you will need a total of 10 edited images. At least 4 images have to be features and the rest might be people at work (candid shots please). The more features you get, the better.
You will post the edited and unedited version in your blog and you must have the names of the subjects. You will not need to add your byline in the photos, instead, add it in Photoshop's file info.
We will talk some more about features Thursday, but I guess you must have a good idea by now since you have read your chapter. This assignment is due on Thursday, March 3 by the end of the class. Everyone must come to class. Remember we have a test coming up Thursday, March 5.
Also, remember to bring your summary about Mr. Dunlap's presentation on portraits. If you were absent, I suggest you talk to your classmates and elaborate from the chapter.

Assignments

Students:

For this time ONLY, I will allow you to work on your portraits Thursday during class. You will have until 9:10 am to finish your postings. No work will be received after this time.
If you have been keeping up and have your portraits done and posted on your blog, you are excused for Thursday class, unless you rather come to class to sharpen your Photoshop skills and/or want to finish previous or future assignments.

ALSO: You write a 2-pages summary (double spaced) on Mr. Dunlap's presentation on portraits. This summary is due Feb. 26 (10 points)

Your assignment on features/people at work has been moved to March 3th. Make sure to read your chapter.

I will be making some changes on the syllabus. Please check my blog and moodle for updates.

Email me if you have any questions or concerns

10 faces and 10 hands assigment

Please take multiple pictures of hands and faces. Then select your 10 best images of hands and 10 best images of faces. This is your opportunity to try different lighting, angles and posses. Remember to ALWAYS save the originals. I encourage you to take pictures of strangers. You need to photograph 10 different people and you must get their names and last names. You will be including the name of your subjects in the text portion of the blog. You also need to credit your photos as follows:

Name Last name/MCOM351

Remember to flatten the image after adding the text

For this first assignment you will take medium and close-up shots. If you have great wide angles pictures you are welcome to used them as extras and upload them in your blog and/or save them for your portfolio.

Make sure you save all of your shooting, not matter now good or bad the images are. They may come handy for second editing . Also they will help you to track your progress as a photo and visual communicator.

Good luck and have fun.

This assignment is due on Feb. 3 (A total of 2 blog entries: one for the hands another for the faces)

Please email me at castillo@ulm.edu if you have any questions.
